Independent Lawyers Network becomes delegate of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum for 2026–2028
The Independent Lawyers Network (ILN) has been selected as a delegate organisation for Azerbaijan National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum for the 2026–2028 cycle, joining a regional network of civil society organisations working to promote human rights, rule of law, and democratic accountability across the Eastern Partnership region.
As a delegate, the Independent Lawyers Network (ILN) aims to contribute to strengthening Azerbaijani civil society advocacy through more close engagement with EU institutions, and the provision of regular sectoral updates on the rule of law and civic space situation in Azerbaijan. Through this engagement, ILN seeks to support evidence-based dialogue between Azerbaijani civil society and EU stakeholders and to enhance the visibility of ongoing human rights and legal developments affecting independent civic actors.
ILN’s participation will particularly focus on facilitating professional dialogue among civil society organisations, promoting international legal standards, and contributing to discussions on civic space, access to justice, and the protection of the legal profession. Further particular focus will be given to the negative consequences of ongoing persecutions against civil society and independent media.
The Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, established in 2009, brings together more than 1,000 civil society organisations from the EU and Eastern Partnership countries and serves as a platform for civil society participation in the Eastern Partnership policy framework.
The Independent Lawyers Network expresses its sincere appreciation to all parties who supported its candidacy and thanks them for their trust and confidence.
