Through different initiatives, ILN seeks to document restrictions, disciplinary measures, and other forms of pressure affecting lawyers and the legal profession in Azerbaijan. It analyses how these practices undermine professional independence, access to justice, and the right to effective legal representation.

Why It Matters

Attacks on lawyers undermine professional independence, weaken access to justice, and directly affect society’s right to effective and independent legal assistance.

Impact

ILN shares legal analysis, resources, and educational materials to increase awareness of lawyers’ rights and the public’s right to independent legal defence, supports lawyers facing reprisals, and promotes the long-term importance of an independent and professional legal profession.
