Transnational repression

Purpose

To document and track cases in which Azerbaijani authorities extend repression beyond national borders, including harassment, threats, surveillance, and the misuse of international legal instruments against individuals in exile.

Why It Matters

Transnational repression threatens the safety of human rights defenders, journalists, and activists abroad, undermines international protection mechanisms, and chills free expression across borders.

Impact

ILN documents cases, shares analysis and resources, and engages international actors to raise awareness, strengthen protection, and promote accountability for cross-border repression.
